We’re chuffed to announce we were big winners at the Vega Digital Awards, collecting seven awards for our work in 2016. It’s particularly humbling considering we were up against lots of top-quality competition!
1100 submissions were received from 30 different countries, while the panel of judges also stemmed from all corners of the globe. They were looking for the most innovative and creative concepts, the strongest executions and the highest quality in the digital media. The categories spanned across broadcast to print, online video, social media and emerging platforms.
Kenjo Ong, President for the International Awards Associates, says, “With vetted panelists, tough criteria, blind judging processes and strict by-laws limiting winners, only the best entries received recognition. The creative digital work this year was truly outstanding and inspiring.”
We also won a first place and a silver award in the Events and Live Webcasts category. Our piece promoting the University of Melbourne Open Day took the Canopus Award while our video for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2016 won a Centuri Award.
Our much decorated piece of Polished Man – which was named Jumbla as an honouree at the incredibly prestigious Webby Awards – was another Canopus winner, in the non-profit category. We won big in this category, with our Save the Whales video for the Wilderness Society also taking home a Canopus Award!
Last but not least, our unique and heavily hand-drawn piece for the Pause Fest (“Erupt”) was a Canopus winner in the Animation category.
Our Creative Director Cal says it’s great that Jumbla has been recognised by the Vega Digital Awards judges.
“The awards were assessed by senior creative industry professionals from all over the world. It’s great to know that even though we are committed to meeting client briefs, we’re still able to produce work with strong artistic appeal.”
