Jumbla’s responds to the AGDA Design Awards Creative Campaign 2015
Published on Sep 18, 2015
Jumbla, along with other designers / artist / thinkers collaborated with AGDA Awards on a creative campaign for 2015. A campaign to create an expression that becomes part of a family of responses.
The Brief was simple; Show what the pinnacle of design means to you – and base it around the Awards Pinnacle logo, a triangle. Any medium, any format, any style.
Our creative Director, Callan Woolcock, took on the challenge to formulate Jumbla’s part of the family response.
“If you define pinnacle, it’s the most successful point – the culmination. So what is the most successful design? And from there it’s easy. The most successful design is and always will be, ‘simple’… because simplicity is what people understand most, and we’re in the business of visual communication.
But, even though designers know this, it doesn’t always start that way (or sometimes end that way, either). Design is a complicated process. More often than not, you begin with one basic concept, but a mash of different ideas and inspirations flood your thoughts, which through time and process, are filtered away to the most basic, often original thought.
This motion response depicts the complicated process that every designer faces to reach the pinnacle of design. You first have an idea, then you’re flooded with so much more, then you refine, and refine, and refine, until it’s right… then you tweak it just a little… and then it’s complete… but funnily enough, it’s very similar to where it all began.
And the digital style is simple, and literal – because design is digital.”
The AGDA Design Awards are about recognising and documenting the best work happening in Australia and New Zealand.
